How to Set Up Your Mars Caravan Annexe – “How To” Video Guide
Your annexe turns your Mars caravan into a bigger, more comfortable living space by adding shade, weather protection and extra room to relax. This short “How To” video walks you through the basic setup process so you can get it right every time.
Watch the Video
In this video we cover:
Unpacking the annexe and identifying all the parts.
Extending and securing the main awning first.
Attaching side and front walls in the correct order.
Setting up poles, rafters and spreader bars.
Pegging and tensioning ropes for a stable structure.
Before You Start
Choose a level, safe campsite with enough room for your awning and annexe.
Make sure your caravan is parked, levelled and stabilisers are down.
Lay out all annexe walls, poles, pegs and ropes so you can see what you’re working with.
Check the weather and wind – avoid setting up in strong or gusty conditions.
Quick Setup Overview
Roll out and set up the awning first, ensuring the legs and rafters are locked and tensioned correctly.
Attach the side walls to the awning track or zips, starting at one end and working your way along.
Attach the front wall, then attach it to the side walls to form the enclosed annexe.
Install the poles and spreader bars as shown in the video, adjusting height so the roof sheds water.
Peg out the base of each wall and tension guy ropes so the fabric is firm but not overstretched.
Open and adjust windows, doors and vents to suit the conditions and reduce condensation.
Pack Down Tips
Brush off sand, dirt and leaves before folding walls.
Allow fabric to dry completely whenever possible to prevent mould and odours.
Fold walls loosely and store poles, ropes and pegs together so the next setup is faster.
Important Notes
These steps are a general guide only. Different Mars caravan and annexe combinations may have slightly different attachment points, pole layouts or wall designs.
Always refer to the printed instructions supplied with your annexe kit.
Do not leave the annexe up in strong winds or storms – pack away if conditions worsen.
If you are unsure about any part of your setup, take a few photos and lodge a support ticket so our team can assist.
