Renogy DC Home App | Setup, Pairing, Offline Mode & Troubleshooting

Renogy Phone App (DC Home) — How It Works, What It Shows, and How to Connect

The Renogy DC Home app is the main phone app used to monitor and manage compatible Renogy power devices (batteries, chargers, controllers, inverters and more). It’s built for off-grid setups — so you can see what your system is doing in real time, adjust supported settings, and keep everything in one place.

What you can do in the app

  • Live monitoring: view battery status, charging/discharging activity, voltage and other device metrics (device-specific).
  • Device settings: change supported parameters from your phone and push them to the device.
  • Device management: add devices, rename devices, and switch connection modes (direct vs via a Renogy gateway device).
  • History & updates (device-specific): view solar/system history where supported and apply OTA firmware updates on compatible gear.
  • Community + store: share setups, learn from other users, and access offers/rewards features inside the app.

Connection options (how your gear talks to your phone)

The app can connect to Renogy devices in a few different ways. Which one you use depends on the hardware in the van/build.

1) Built-in Bluetooth (simplest)

Some Renogy devices have Bluetooth built in. If yours does, you can usually add it directly in the app by scanning for nearby devices.

2) Bluetooth modules (BT-1 / BT-2)

If your device has a communication port, you can often add Bluetooth using a Renogy module. The BT-2 is commonly used for devices that communicate over RS485 and is listed as compatible with the DC Home app.

3) WLAN / Cellular (for longer-range monitoring)

For monitoring beyond Bluetooth range, Renogy supports pairing the app with gateway-style devices (for example, the Renogy ONE range), which can relay system data over Wi-Fi/cellular depending on model and setup.

Before you start

  • Make sure your Renogy device is powered on and correctly installed.
  • Turn Bluetooth on on your phone.
  • Android users: allow Location Services (and ensure GPS is on) so Android can scan for Bluetooth devices. This is an Android platform requirement for Bluetooth discovery.
  • Stay close: best results are when your phone is within a few meters of the device during pairing.

How to add a device (typical steps)

  1. Install the app and sign in (email sign-up is commonly recommended so your device list/settings follow your login).
  2. Open the app and go to the Devices area.
  3. Tap + (Add Device) and scan for devices nearby (or scan a QR code if you’re pairing via a gateway device).
  4. Select the device when it appears and confirm.
  5. Tap into the device card to view live data and any available settings.

Offline mode (no reception, no worries — mostly)

The app supports an Offline Mode for situations with poor/no internet. In offline mode you can still monitor/manage devices locally, but online-only features (community, store/rewards areas) won’t load until you’re back online.

Common issues & quick fixes

My device won’t show up when I scan

  • Confirm the device is powered on.
  • Move your phone closer (and remove obstacles like thick walls/metal barriers).
  • Update the app to the latest version.
  • On Android: confirm Location permission is allowed and GPS is switched on.

I’m using a Communication Hub and some devices don’t appear

If you’re adding multiple devices through a hub (using one BT-2 module), it may help to add each device individually first, then reconnect them through the hub.

Can I monitor from far away?

Bluetooth monitoring is limited to Bluetooth range. For longer-range monitoring, you’ll generally need a compatible gateway-style device paired to the app over Wi-Fi/cellular (where supported).

Compatibility note

Not every Renogy product is app-compatible, and not every feature appears on every device. Renogy publishes compatibility lists (built-in Bluetooth vs BT-1 vs BT-2 vs WLAN/cellular). Always confirm your exact model and connection method before assuming app support.
