A standard car licence (Class C) is valid for:
What's not always realised: your trailer's mass isn't counted toward your GVM for licence purposes. As long as your tow vehicle itself is under 4.5t GVM, a regular car licence covers you to tow a caravan — even a heavy one — provided you're within your vehicle's tow rating.
Every Mars caravan in our current range can be legally towed on a standard Class C car licence — the licence question only becomes relevant if you're driving a tow vehicle over 4.5t GVM (large American pickups, light trucks, motorhomes). Most 4WDs, SUVs and utes are well under that limit.
