Dometic Cassette Toilet – Basic Operation

Dometic Cassette Toilet – Basic Operation

The Dometic cassette toilet is simple to use and designed for everyday convenience while travelling. This guide covers the basic operation of the toilet from inside the van.

Before You Use the Toilet

  • Make sure the cassette is correctly installed.
  • Make sure the van has 12V power for the flush system if required on your model.
  • Check that there is water available for flushing.

How to Use the Toilet

  1. Open the toilet lid.
  2. Press the flush button briefly to allow a small amount of water into the bowl.
  3. Open the blade or slider by pulling the lever across before use.
  4. Use the toilet as normal.
  5. Press the flush button again after use to rinse the bowl.
  6. Close the blade or slider fully after flushing.

Important Notes

  • Always open the slider before using the toilet.
  • Always close the slider again after use.
  • Do not leave the slider open when the toilet is not being used.
  • The toilet seat can usually be rotated for a more comfortable position, depending on layout.

Flush and Water Use

Use only enough water to rinse the bowl properly. This helps keep the system clean while also managing water usage when travelling off-grid.

When the Cassette Is Getting Full

If the level indicator comes on, the cassette is nearing full and will only have a few uses left. At that point, it will need to be emptied from the outside service hatch.

Helpful Tip

Using a small amount of water before use and flushing again straight after helps keep the bowl cleaner and makes the toilet easier to maintain.
