Controls & what they do
The LED control panel is located above the fridge door and typically includes:

- Error/Warning icon – indicates a fault code or warning
- Temperature indicator – shows the current temperature level
How to use (everyday steps)
1) Switch the fridge on
- Press and hold the ON/OFF button for about 2 seconds.
- The fridge will start using the most recent settings.
2) Choose a cooling mode
- Press the MODE button repeatedly until the indicator shows the mode you want.
3) Set the temperature level
- Press the TEMP button repeatedly until the desired temperature level is selected.
- Tip: Start around the middle and adjust after the fridge has had time to stabilise.
4) Switch the fridge off
- Press and hold the ON/OFF button for about 4 seconds.
- If storing the van, isolate power to the fridge if required (per your van’s electrical setup).
Which mode should I use?
Performance mode (everyday)
- Best for normal daily use.
- Selectable temperature levels: 1–5.
Silent mode (overnight / low noise)
- Reduced noise (lower fan/compressor behaviour).
- Selectable temperature levels: 1–3.
Turbo mode (rapid cool-down)
- Use when you’ve just stocked warm groceries, or need a quick pull-down temp.
- Runs at maximum cooling and is time-limited (then returns to normal operation).
Door locks & travel position
- At camp: Use the normal door position for easy open/close.
- Before driving: Make sure the fridge door (and freezer door) are closed and locked so they can’t swing open on the road.
- Safety note: Open carefully after travel—items can shift and fall.
Cleaning & maintenance
Regular cleaning (quick method)
- Disconnect power to the fridge before cleaning.
- Wipe internal surfaces with a damp cloth.
- Avoid water running into seals (it can damage electronics).
- Wipe everything dry after cleaning.
- Check the condensate drain regularly and keep it clear.
What NOT to do
- Don’t use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Don’t use sharp tools to chip ice or free frozen items.
- Don’t use heaters/hair dryers or “mechanical tools” to speed up defrosting.
Defrosting (when you should do it)
Over time, frost can build up on the cooling fins. If the frost layer reaches around 3 mm, it’s time to defrost.
- Move food into an esky (or another fridge) if needed.
- Switch the fridge OFF.
- Leave doors open and allow ice to melt naturally.
- Wipe out moisture, dry, then switch back on and let it pull down to temp before restocking.
If you’re storing the van (important)
- Switch the fridge off.
- Defrost it if needed.
- Clean and dry it thoroughly.
- Leave the doors slightly open (storage position) to prevent mould and smells.
Quick troubleshooting tips
- Not cooling well? Check ventilation grilles aren’t blocked, and make sure the door seal is clean and sealing properly.
- Door alarm / warning? Close the door fully and re-check the latch.
- Error icon showing? Power-cycle the fridge and/or follow your Dometic fault reset steps. If it returns, book service.
